The hallways hummed with energy as Austin Community College District (ACC) welcomed students on the first days of the spring semester. First day enrollment for spring 2026 was 42,067 students—up from 38,888 the previous spring. To support this growth, our employees stepped up in a big way.
Building on the success of the Calendar Blackout Days initiative launched last semester, the College once again paused internal meetings on the first two days of classes—Tuesday, January 20, and Wednesday, January 21—to prioritize student support. The result: more than 720 employee volunteers covered over 1,000 Welcome Riverbats shifts, ensuring every student got the help they needed.
