As the semester winds down, it’s important to help our students finish strong. Student Affairs’ Benefits of Being a Riverbat (BOBAR) campaign connects students with timely resources to help them succeed. Here’s how you can assist students during Finals Week:
Encourage De-Stressing with Student Life:
Invite students to unwind at their campus Student Life lounge, where they can relax before finals. Students can check MySL for activities on every campus.
Promote Campus Resources:
Guide students to quiet study areas with technology access and staff support, like the Learning Labs, Libraries, and ACCelerators.
Share Academic Support Options:
Remind students about ACC’s free tutoring services to help them review concepts or prepare for exams. For help with time management, study skills, or organizing their workload, they can meet with an academic coach.
Help with Future Planning:
Support students in planning for their next steps by referring them to Career Services for resume building and job opportunities or to Transfer Services for help exploring universities and planning for transfer.
Remind Them to Register Early:
Encourage students to plan ahead by securing their schedule for the next semester before classes fill up. They can check registration dates, meet with their advisor, and get help from the Registration Station for registration and payment assistance. The Help Desk is also available for any additional questions.
