Austin Community College District (ACC) partners with Seedling, a nonprofit that supports children challenged by parental incarceration, to make a brighter future for Austin-area students. Seedling is looking for volunteers to serve as mentors.
As a mentor, you’ll meet with the child you’re connected with on a weekly basis during that child’s school lunch hour.
Mentors are paired with students in K-8th grade. Matches typically spend their lunch time together playing games, drawing, or chatting. No special skills or experience are required. Seedling provides training and ongoing 1:1 support for the entirety of the match.
ACC employees are encouraged to consider this community service opportunity. Interested employees are invited to an upcoming virtual info session to learn more. Registration is required.
