ACC celebrates Juneteenth with its annual event at ACC Eastview Campus on Thursday, June 16, 2022. The event, which went virtual the past two years due to COVID-19, is back in person this year and open to faculty, staff, students, and the community.

Attendees can enjoy live entertainment, tours of the ACC African American Cultural Center, lunch, games and activities at a Riverbat kids’ station, and dancing. A COVID-19 vaccination clinic and voter registration table will also be available at the event.

More Ways to Celebrate Juneteenth

On Saturday, June 18, the college will continue its annual tradition of participating in the Greater East Austin Youth Association Juneteenth Park Festival and Parade. For the first year ever, ACC will have its own float. Anyone interested in participating or volunteering at the event may contact Dahlia Anzaldua-Torres at [email protected]. Limited spaces are available.

For the first time, in 2022, ACC will close campuses and centers in observance of Juneteenth. The college will be closed Friday, June 17. Learn more about the significance here and share your thoughts about Juneteenth in the message board below.
