Austin Community College will offer new, free health testing for students, faculty, and staff in April.

In addition to ongoing COVID-19 testing and vaccination clinics on campus, ACC also will host free HIV/STI testing at select campuses in April.

“We care about the health and safety of all our students and colleagues,” says Dr. Shasta Buchanan, ACC vice chancellor of Student Affairs.

The college’s Office of Student Life has partnered with Vivent Health to bring an HIV Mobile Unit to five campuses. The mobile unit offers testing in a confidential and discreet manner and covers STI testing, counseling, referrals, and sexual health information.

The dates and details are below:

  • Hays Campus – Wednesday, April 20
  • Northridge Campus – Thursday, April 21
  • Round Rock Campus – Tuesday, April 26
  • Highland Campus – Wednesday, April 27
  • Riverside Campus  – Thursday, April 28

According to Vivent Health, many people put their routine health screenings on hold during the pandemic which has impacted infection rates today. The testing tour gives Riverbats an opportunity to prioritize their sexual health.
