{"id":904,"date":"2021-09-20T10:41:41","date_gmt":"2021-09-20T16:41:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/infohub.austincc.edu\/shared-governance\/?p=904"},"modified":"2021-09-20T10:41:43","modified_gmt":"2021-09-20T16:41:43","slug":"job-search-assistance-courses-available-for-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/infohub.austincc.edu\/shared-governance\/blog\/2021\/09\/20\/job-search-assistance-courses-available-for-students\/","title":{"rendered":"Job search assistance courses available for students"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Austin Community College District (ACC) offers students comprehensive job search training through the Strategies for Today\u2019s Jobs course.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The course is designed for students of all backgrounds \u2014 from first-time job seekers to those looking to re-enter the workforce after a recent layoff or prolonged absence \u2014 who are seeking an internship, apprenticeship, or their dream job.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students enrolled in the course get:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1-on-1 career coaching<\/li><li>Resume and cover letter writing assistance<\/li><li>Access to Jobscan, a tool that analyzes resume effectiveness<\/li><li>Face-to-face and remote interview practice&nbsp;<\/li><li>Networking experience<\/li><li>Help to create a personal brand and elevator pitch<\/li><li>LinkedIn and Indeed training<\/li><li>Salary negotiation skills<\/li><li>Ongoing career support<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hosted by ACC\u2019s Career Services Department, the four-week course is free and entirely online.
