{"id":891,"date":"2021-09-16T10:24:04","date_gmt":"2021-09-16T16:24:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/infohub.austincc.edu\/shared-governance\/?p=891"},"modified":"2021-09-28T15:17:15","modified_gmt":"2021-09-28T21:17:15","slug":"voting-on-qep-topic-selection-finalists-now-open","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/infohub.austincc.edu\/shared-governance\/blog\/2021\/09\/16\/voting-on-qep-topic-selection-finalists-now-open\/","title":{"rendered":"Vote for ACC&#8217;s 2022 QEP Topic"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Austin Community College District (ACC) wants to know which topic the college should focus on for its next Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). <a href=\"https:\/\/www.surveymonkey.com\/r\/ACCQEP21\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Voting is now open <\/a>and runs until September 23, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The four finalists are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/qep\/topic-selection#top1\">Creating a Culture of Inclusivity through Universal Design for Learning<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/qep\/topic-selection#top2\">Digital Fluency For Today&#8217;s Jobs<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/qep\/topic-selection#top3\">Investing in the Liberal Arts: Redesigning Gateway Courses<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/qep\/topic-selection#top4\">On The Write Track<\/a><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>To learn more about each of the finalists, watch the September 14 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/events\/campus-conversations-with-the-chancellor\">Campus Conversation on the QEP topic selection finalists<\/a> (recording coming soon).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-content-justification-center is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-outline is-style-outline--1\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.surveymonkey.com\/r\/ACCQEP21\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Vote Here!<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About the Selection Process<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to making decisions about topics, a survey was completed which collected themes of interest from the ACC community. 176 themes were collected and used to guide the next steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/qep\/topic-selection#top4\">QEP Topic Selection Committee<\/a> reviewed 41 topics in total:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>16 were submitted through the topic selection form<\/li><li>25 were proposals from the college\u2019s 2020-25 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/provost\/academic-master-plan\">Academic Master Plan<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Of the 41 topics, the committee selected their top 15 for additional research and consideration.&nbsp; That work led to its top four finalists \u2014 two from the AMP and two from the topic selection form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Next Steps<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The winning topic will be the one that receives the most votes and will be announced at ACC\u2019s 2021 General Assembly on Friday, October 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Upon selection of the topic, a second QEP committee will work from October 2021 until August 2022 to create a five-year action plan for the chosen topic. Recruiting for this committee will start soon.
