Austin Community College District (ACC) is participating in the Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE) and the Community College Faculty Survey of Student Engagement (CCFSSE). Both surveys occur in April 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n

The college encourages students and faculty to participate and help identify where we are and what further action may be helpful in our ongoing work to support and strengthen teaching and learning.<\/span><\/p>\n

About the CCSSE Survey<\/strong><\/p>\n

The national CCSSE survey focuses on teaching, learning, and retention in technical and community colleges.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cResearch shows that students who read and write more and who interact in positive ways with their teachers and peers, increase their essential skills and competencies,\u201d says ACC Chancellor Dr. Richard Rhodes. \u201cIdentifying what ACC students do in and out of the classroom, knowing their goals, and understanding their external responsibilities can help enhance student learning, development, and retention.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The online student survey is conducted triennially. This year it runs from April 5 through April 29. An email with a link to the CCSSE survey was sent from the Office of Institutional Research and Analytics (OIRA) to ACC students.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

About the CCFSSE Survey<\/strong><\/p>\n

The CCFSSE is designed to mirror the CCSSE and asks faculty about their perceptions regarding students\u2019 educational experiences. The survey also elicits information from faculty about their teaching practices and the ways they spend their professional time, in and out of class.<\/span><\/p>\n

Faculty should have received an email from the CCFSSE office with a link to the online faculty survey during the first week of April. The deadline to complete the survey is May 2.<\/span><\/p>\n

The college will receive an electronic report of results with the CCSSE Institutional Report this fall.<\/span><\/p>\n
