{"id":3603,"date":"2023-06-22T10:40:41","date_gmt":"2023-06-22T16:40:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/infohub.austincc.edu\/shared-governance\/?p=3603"},"modified":"2023-06-29T15:52:44","modified_gmt":"2023-06-29T21:52:44","slug":"learn-more-about-accs-3-chancellor-search-finalists","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/infohub.austincc.edu\/shared-governance\/blog\/2023\/06\/22\/learn-more-about-accs-3-chancellor-search-finalists\/","title":{"rendered":"Learn more about ACC\u2019s 3 Chancellor Search finalists"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The nationwide search for Austin Community College District\u2019s (ACC) next chancellor has been narrowed down to three finalists.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The finalists \u2014 selected by the Board of Trustees <strong>&nbsp;\u2014 <\/strong>are Dr. Robert Garza, Palo Alto College (San Antonio, Texas); Dr. Joyce Ester, Normandale Community College (Bloomington, Minnesota); and Dr. Russell Lowery-Hart, Amarillo College (Amarillo, Texas).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the next steps in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/about-acc\/chancellor-search\/search-process\"><strong>Chancellor Search process<\/strong><\/a>, each finalist has been invited to visit ACC. They will participate individually in a series of community forums at three ACC campuses \u2014 Round Rock, Highland, and South Austin. The forums begin Tuesday, June 27, and end Thursday, June 29. All forums will be held in-person. The schedule is below. He initially joined the Alamo Colleges District in 1999 and held several positions during his tenure at Palo Alto College, including dean of community development and partnerships, dean of student success, and vice president of student success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Garza holds a bachelor&#8217;s degree from Texas A&amp;M University, a master&#8217;s degree in public administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and a doctorate in educational administration from the University of Texas at Austin.
