ACC practices emergency response procedures and tests its emergency notification system during the summer semester Emergency Preparedness Week which runs from Monday, June 12, through Friday, June 16.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/emergency-information\/emergency-preparedness-week\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Emergency Preparedness Week<\/strong><\/a><strong> <\/strong>takes place during the third week of every semester. It is designed to help employees and students prepare for the best actions to take in the event of an emergency on campus or within the district.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the week, ACC will test and practice its emergency response procedures with drills and test runs of the ACC <a href=\"http:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/emergency-information\/acc-emergency-alert\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Emergency Alert System<\/strong><\/a> districtwide. ACC will send messages and text alerts to all registered accounts and post alerts on the ACC homepage and social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The college encourages everyone to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/online-services\/emergency-alert-signup\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>verify or update their contact information online<\/strong><\/a> to receive emergency notifications. Families and media also may register to receive alerts directly from the college.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">HOW TO PREPARE<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>View the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/emergency-notifications\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>ACC Emergency website<\/strong><\/a> for detailed information about various types of emergencies.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bookmark the page on your phone and computer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Get connected to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/about-acc\/acc-on-social-media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>ACC on social media<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong> ACC emergency alerts and updates are available on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ACCDistrict\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Facebook<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/accdistrict\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Twitter<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Know the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/offices\/emergency-management\/emergency-egress-plan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Emergency Egress Plans<\/strong><\/a>.
