We strive to create a space where everyone feels supported and appreciated,\u201d says ACC Chancellor Dr. Richard Rhodes. \u201cWe offer resources and benefits so employees can grow. We encourage freedom and flexibility so they can continue doing great work. Building a culture like that takes all of us working together on a shared vision to connect, collaborate, and demonstrate care.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Diverse: Issues In Higher Education, along with National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD), looked at workplace diversity, staffing practices, and work environment through a web-based survey. The survey measured several key categories, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Family friendliness<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Salary\/benefits<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Professional development opportunities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Administrative structures<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Work environments<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>ACC was one of just 20 community colleges nationwide selected for the honor. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.diverseeducation.com\/page\/about-us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Diverse: Issues In Higher Education<\/a><\/strong> is a bi-weekly news magazine that launched almost 40 years ago. The magazine is a source of news and information concerning diversity in American higher education.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All 20 colleges will be presented with this national recognition during the annual NISOD meeting, Saturday, May 27, through Tuesday, May 30, in Austin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The college was also named the best <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/bestplace4workingparents.com\" target=\"_blank\">The Best Place for Working Parents<\/a><\/strong><sup>(TM)<\/sup> for two straight years.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Austin Community College District (ACC) was selected as one of the most promising places to work in community colleges, according to Diverse Education. \u201cI\u2019m immensely proud of the teamwork at Austin Community College District.
