{"id":3462,"date":"2023-05-12T14:49:54","date_gmt":"2023-05-12T20:49:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/infohub.austincc.edu\/shared-governance\/?p=3462"},"modified":"2023-05-12T14:49:56","modified_gmt":"2023-05-12T20:49:56","slug":"acc-nursing-recognized-by-travis-county-commissioners-court","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/infohub.austincc.edu\/shared-governance\/blog\/2023\/05\/12\/acc-nursing-recognized-by-travis-county-commissioners-court\/","title":{"rendered":"ACC Nursing recognized by Travis County Commissioners Court"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>ACC Nursing Faculty were recognized by the Travis County Commissioners Court Tuesday, May 9, in honor of <strong>National Nurses Week, May 6-12, 2023<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The court presented ACC Nursing faculty with a special proclamation, and Dr. Nina Almasy, our dean of Health Sciences, had an opportunity to share a few remarks on behalf of the college.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are grateful to Judge Brown and the Travis County Commissioners for this significant proclamation, recognizing the incredible work of all nurses. It&#8217;s an honor to represent ACC Nursing,\u201d says Almasy. \u201cAs the largest healthcare workforce segment, nurses play a vital role in the health of our communities and the healthcare system as a whole. ACC is committed to preparing compassionate and competent nurses of the future and serving our patients in the region.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/infohub.austincc.edu\/shared-governance\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2023\/05\/IMG_9395.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3464\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>National Nurses Week celebrates nurses for their service and dedication to caring for others and improving the health of patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ACC provides a full nursing career pathway, from the fast track <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/continue.austincc.edu\/nurseaide\" target=\"_blank\">certified nurse aide<\/a><\/strong> (CNA) (currently offered at a\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/news\/2020\/12\/acc-extends-expands-tuition-cuts-fast-track-training-programs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>50 percent discount as part of the college\u2019s fast-track training programs<\/strong><\/a>), to an advanced certificate in <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/academic-and-career-programs\/areas-of-study\/health-sciences\/nursing\/vocational-nursing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">vocational nursing<\/a><\/strong> (LVN) or an associate degree in <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/academic-and-career-programs\/areas-of-study\/health-sciences\/nursing\/professional-nursing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">professional nursing<\/a><\/strong> to become an RN. The college also offers a pathway toward a bachelor\u2019s degree in nursing through the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/academic-and-career-programs\/areas-of-study\/health-sciences\/nursing\/rn-to-bsn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RN-to-BSN program<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ACC Nursing Faculty were recognized by the Travis County Commissioners Court Tuesday, May 9, in honor of National Nurses Week, May 6-12, 2023.
