March is National Women\u2019s History Month. ACC honors the month with events and an opportunity to join a new chapter of the American Association of Women in Community Colleges here at ACC<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ACC\u2019s Women\u2019s History Month events are part of the broader Cultural Mosaic Series<\/strong><\/a> produced by ACC\u2019s Teaching & Learning Excellence Division. Cultural Mosaics are collegewide celebrations that serve to nurture a sense of belonging in our ACC community and link to the many academic disciplines of our students. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Women\u2019s History Month events include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Women’s History Panel: \u201cGlobal Storytelling About Women: Empowerment and Disruption\u201d<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Events will continue to be added throughout the month. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

ACC faculty and staff also are invited to contribute to the Celebration of Women\u2019s History padlet wall to celebrate the women who shaped their lives and our world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

American Association of Women in Community Colleges<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

ACC launched its own chapter of the American Association of Women in Community Colleges<\/strong><\/a> (AAWCC) this year. Membership is open to all faculty, staff, and administrators at the college. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Monique Umphrey, ACC provost, serves as the 2021-23 national president of the AAWCC and affiliate council of the American Association of Community Colleges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The organization\u2019s mission is to change women\u2019s lives through education, service, and leadership development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
