2023 is a big year for strategic collegewide initiatives at Austin Community College District (ACC), and to better support all staff with these efforts, the college is making some leadership changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among ACC\u2019s 2023 priorities are the 2022 bond projects<\/a><\/strong>, the implementation of the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP)<\/a><\/strong>, the development of the next strategic plan<\/a><\/strong>, and the launch of the new Student Information System (SIS). <\/p>\n\n\n\n This new SIS will enable ACC to digitize and better manage student information. Mike Midgley<\/strong>, ACC\u2019s current Vice Chancellor of Instruction, will assume the new role of Senior Vice Chancellor of SIS starting in January 2023. He will guide the development and implementation of the SIS, ensuring faculty and staff input is included and creating a seamless transition. Look for a Q&A with him coming soon to learn more about the SIS and how it\u2019s designed to simplify and streamline college operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Dr. Gaye Lynn Scott<\/strong> has been appointed to fill the position of Vice Chancellor of Instruction. Dr. Scott currently serves as Associate Vice Chancellor of Academic Transfer Programs, where she has developed and implemented initiatives such as 8-week classes, Z-Degree tracks, a more strategic approach to scheduling, the early alert program, and opportunities to embed equity in faculty hiring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the coming month, the college will begin the search for a new Associate Vice Chancellor of Academic Transfer Programs. The search will extend to both internal and external candidates. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Many of the college\u2019s 2023 priorities straddle numerous divisions \u2014 to align this work, Garrett Groves<\/strong> will assume additional, added responsibilities as the Chancellor\u2019s Chief of Staff. Groves also will continue to serve as Vice Chancellor of Strategic Initiatives. In these joint roles, he will continue to oversee high-profile projects at the college and lead ACC into even more collaborative partnerships that stretch across all divisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
