ACC celebrates the grand opening of the IMPACT Lab Manufacturing Incubator with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, October 14. The college\u2019s third incubator provides hands-on training and tools for local startups and students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony with remarks and tours of the facility, as well as an information session for local manufacturing startups and a career exploration event for students to connect with local employers and learn about training programs at ACC to help them prepare for a career in manufacturing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When:<\/strong> Friday, October 14 Watch the Livestream HERE<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In August, the manufacturing industry made headlines when U.S. Senator John Cornyn and U.S. Representative Michael McCaul toured ACC\u2019s manufacturing spaces and shared details on the CHIPS Act<\/a><\/strong>.<\/a> The legislation provides $200 million to support workforce development programs, like ACC\u2019s, for the domestic semiconductor industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The IMPACT Lab is an advanced manufacturing business incubator and training lab located at the ACC Highland Campus. The 5,000-square-foot facility is Austin\u2019s first innovation center focused on physical product development and manufacturing. This facility also serves as the home to the college\u2019s Advanced Manufacturing Academy, a high school dual credit program. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Lab highlights include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n The IMPACT lab is funded by a grant from the National Economic Development Administration\u2019s Regional Innovation Strategies as well as local matching dollars from ATI, Autodesk, City of Austin, and Amazon Web Services. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
