{"id":2199,"date":"2022-09-06T09:00:56","date_gmt":"2022-09-06T15:00:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/infohub.austincc.edu\/shared-governance\/?p=2199"},"modified":"2022-09-12T09:09:56","modified_gmt":"2022-09-12T15:09:56","slug":"acc-hosts-emergency-preparedness-week-september-5-9","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/infohub.austincc.edu\/shared-governance\/blog\/2022\/09\/06\/acc-hosts-emergency-preparedness-week-september-5-9\/","title":{"rendered":"ACC hosts Emergency Preparedness Week September 5-9"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Preparing for the unexpected and keeping our campuses safe, ACC practices emergency response procedures and tests its emergency notification system as part of <strong>Emergency Preparedness Week<\/strong> from Monday, September 5, through Friday, September 9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/emergency-information\/emergency-preparedness-week\"><strong>Emergency Preparedness Week<\/strong><\/a> is designated toward the beginning of every semester to help employees and students train for the best actions to take in the event of an emergency on campus.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The college will conduct evacuation drills at select campuses and test the ACC Emergency Alert System districtwide with text and email alerts along with messaging on the college\u2019s homepage and on Facebook and Twitter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Get Ready Now:<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/online-services\/emergency-alert-signup\"><strong>Verify or update your contact information online<\/strong><\/a> to receive emergency notifications. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Also, review these <a href=\"https:\/\/infohub.austincc.edu\/shared-governance\/happening-now\/get-in-the-know-tips-for-emergency-evacuations\/\"><strong>tips for emergency evacuations<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Other Ways to Prepare:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>View the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/emergency-notifications\"><strong>ACC Emergency website<\/strong><\/a> for detailed information about various types of emergencies.&nbsp;View the training video on the<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/emergency-information\/active-shooter-reporting-and-response-procedures\" target=\"_blank\"> <strong>active shooter page<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li><li><strong>Bookmark <\/strong>the page on your phone and computer.<\/li><li>Get connected to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/about-acc\/acc-on-social-media\"><strong>ACC on social media<\/strong><\/a>. ACC Emergency alerts and updates are posted to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ACCDistrict\"><strong>Facebook<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/accdistrict\"><strong>Twitter<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li><li>Know the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/offices\/emergency-management\/emergency-egress-plan\"><strong>Emergency Egress Plan<\/strong><\/a>.
