{"id":1646,"date":"2022-04-13T10:33:26","date_gmt":"2022-04-13T16:33:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/infohub.austincc.edu\/shared-governance\/?p=1646"},"modified":"2022-04-19T09:39:56","modified_gmt":"2022-04-19T15:39:56","slug":"free-confidential-hiv-sti-testing-in-april","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/infohub.austincc.edu\/shared-governance\/blog\/2022\/04\/13\/free-confidential-hiv-sti-testing-in-april\/","title":{"rendered":"Free, confidential HIV\/STI testing in April"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Contributed by Student Affairs Communications<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Austin Community College will offer new, free health testing for students, faculty, and staff in April.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to ongoing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/coronavirus\/covid-19-vaccinations\">COVID-19 testing and vaccination clinics<\/a> on campus, ACC also will host free HIV\/STI testing at select campuses in April.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe care about the health and safety of all our students and colleagues,\u201d says Dr. Shasta Buchanan, ACC vice chancellor of Student Affairs.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The college\u2019s Office of Student Life has partnered with Vivent Health to bring an HIV Mobile Unit to five campuses. The mobile unit offers testing in a confidential and discreet manner and covers STI testing, counseling, referrals, and sexual health information.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The dates and details are below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Hays Campus &#8211; <\/strong>Wednesday, April 20&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Northridge Campus &#8211; <\/strong>Thursday, April 21&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Round Rock Campus &#8211; <\/strong>Tuesday, April 26<\/li><li><strong>Highland Campus &#8211; <\/strong>Wednesday, April 27&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Riverside Campus&nbsp; &#8211; <\/strong>Thursday, April 28<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Vivent Health, many people put their routine health screenings on hold during the pandemic which has impacted infection rates today.
