AUGUST 30<\/strong>
Tim Klein, director of strategic partnerships at Project Wayfinder, spoke about <\/strong>The Power of Purpose & Belonging in Student Success<\/strong><\/a>. He shared research that demonstrates just how important purposeful belonging is for student success. He said, “Purpose can be learned, but it can\u2019t be taught. It\u2019s a form of self-education that can\u2019t come from an external source.” He also gave advice for how we can help students find purposeful belonging. SEPTEMBER 3<\/strong>
Flower Darby presented \u201cAnswering the Call: New Motivation for Excellence in Teaching\u201d<\/strong> at the Teaching & Learning Academy\u2019s kickoff<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

OCTOBER 1<\/strong>
General Assembly\u2019s 2021 theme, \u201cLight Your Fire,\u201d<\/strong> focused on the role that purpose and belonging play in student success and in our personal and professional growth. View a recap of the program here<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Voters chose \u201cDigital Fluency for Today\u2019s Jobs\u201d<\/a> as ACC\u2019s next Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). The College will devote the next five years to this issue to improve student learning outcomes and student success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

OCTOBER 13<\/strong>

The Office of Distance & Alternative Education\u2019s annual symposium, \u201cFrom Surviving to Thriving: Rocking the New Normal,\u201d<\/strong> featured Dr. Gaye Lynn Scott, ACC Academic Programs associate vice chancellor, as keynote speaker and Thursday and Friday breakout sessions.
