Austin Community College District (ACC) congratulates Jeff DeLeon, the 2022 Bravo Riverbat Employee of the Year.
DeLeon is a member of the Information Technology team under the leadership of Dr. Lara Helms. He enjoys helping and teaching people by applying his professional experience and certification knowledge of networking operating systems and hardware solutions.
Based at ACC’s Round Rock Campus, DeLeon delivers technical assistance, support, analysis, and training to use computer hardware and peripheral devices to approximately 200 faculty and staff. He worked to support Round Rock’s reopening after the pandemic-related closure while also assisting with the reopening of ACC’s Highland and Rio Grande campuses. Additionally, he volunteered to distribute laptops as part of the college’s tech-support program during the pandemic and helped with imaging and setup of new equipment at Highland and Rio Grande. He did all that while also testing and implementing the college’s remote support software solutions.
DeLeon was also flexible in adapting his schedule to fit the needs of the college. He had relatives who were sick and passed away during lockdown. When members of the team were out tending to sick children, spouses, or parents affected by COVID, he and others on the team stepped in to help maintain service coverage.
