Earth Day at ACC

ACC celebrated the 51st annual Earth Day by engaging students, faculty, and staff with a week of fun-filled virtual sustainability events. Asian American & Pacific Islander Virtual Roundtable

On Tuesday, April 6, ACC’s Office of Student Life and its Truth,Racial Healing & Transformation Center (TRHT) hosted the Asian American & Pacific Islander Virtual Roundtable: A Student-Focused Discussion. With the recent racial and social justice issues around the country, the ultimate goal of this event was to center the Asian American & Pacific Islander student voices in a reflection on the effects of anti-Asian racism in the time of COVID-19. The voices of more than 50 ACC community members were heard. 

TLED Open Forum on Faculty Evaluation

The Teaching & Learning Excellence Division (TLED) hosted an Open Forum on Faculty Evaluation Friday, April 23. This event was an opportunity for faculty to hear updates from the Shared Governance Faculty Development and Evaluation Committee and the TLED Faculty Development and Evaluation Office. The event keynote was Dr. Philip Stark, professor of Statistics, associate dean in the Division of Mathematical and Physical Sciences, and interim regional associate dean for the College of Chemistry and Division of Mathematical and Physical Sciences at University of California-Berkeley. Dr. Stark presented on making course evaluations actionable and equitable. Learn more here

Global Accessibility Awareness Day

In recognition of May 20 as the 10th annual Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD), ACC encouraged everyone to celebrate accessibility by increasing knowledge, skills, and awareness of accessibility topics and the importance of equal access and equal opportunity for people with disabilities. The college compiled a series of webinars and training opportunities for students, staff, and faculty. View these resources on the TLED blog.

College & Community Resource Series

ACC’s Social Support Resource Development and its Office of Compliance launched a new webinar series in April called The College & Community Resource Series (CCRS). Each month, participants will hear directly from representatives of various ACC departments and external community organizations as they bring to life the essential support services that they provide. The April CCRS centered around pandemic and disaster relief and as the May CCRS highlighted health & wellbeing resources. Both sessions are available to view on the website. The June CCRS webinar will focus on resources related to economic assistance and financial guidance. Registration for employee professional development credit is open.
