What is Diwali?
Diwali, translated as “Festival of Lights” in English, is a popular and important festival celebrated in India and other South Asian countries such as Nepal, Singapore, and Malaysia. The festival lasts for five days, beginning 15 days after the full moon in the eighth month of the Hindu calendar. Traditional festivities include decorating the home with lights and oil lamps and enjoying delicious food together.
