ACC welcomes Dr. Octavious Bishop for a conversation on mentorship, race, and inclusivity. ‘A Legacy Beyond Bloodline’ is cohosted by ACC’s Honors Program and the Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation Campus Center (THRT).

Dr. Bishop, a University of Texas at Austin and ACC faculty member, will talk about his journey from childhood poverty to a successful career in the National Football League and beyond. He also will share tips on how to realize personal and academic goals through relational investments.

Refreshments will be provided. Registration is recommended but not required.

ACC Honors program is designed to give students a competitive edge to transfer to a four-year institution. It provides core curriculum with smaller classes and emphasizes active learning and coursework involving research, creative expression, and community service.
