ACC faculty interested in exploring how to use the syllabus to foster purpose and belonging in the classroom are invited to participate in the Syllabus Project Faculty Learning Community (FLC).
Throughout the 10-month learning community, faculty will explore instructional and information strategies with the syllabus in mind that help students feel a sense of belonging and consider their strengths, skills, values, interests, and needs to find purpose and pursue meaningful work and careers.
Full-time and adjunct faculty are invited to apply as individuals or as Area of Study teams. All faculty will form teams of at least two members. A stipend of $1,020 will be provided to each faculty member.
Accepted faculty will be expected to:
- Attend the opening seminar, “Purpose and Belonging-Informed Educator,” on Wednesday, July 27, and Thursday, July 28, from 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.,
- Participate in monthly presentations by key experts on DEI syllabus strategies from September through March,
- Work in teams, and
- Present at the closing event in April 2023.
